We have been sharing a lot about staying physically active with all of our different workouts you can do from home, as well as slowly down the mind with some guided meditations. But what about some brain stimulating activities that do not involve staring at a screen and are actually good for the brain?
I don’t know about you guys, but I have had a LOT of screen time in the last month. For most of us that are working from home, we are on our computers for the whole work day, and then, if you’re like me, in the evening and on weekends maybe you’re spending more time binging on Netflix than you would like to admit. So I figured it’s probably time to engage in some more beneficial brain stimulating activities! Pete shared with us last week that he is getting back into reading, which is a great example. Other ideas include writing, playing card games or board games, doing jigsaw or crossword puzzles, drawing, painting, knitting. Really ANYTHING that you can do at home that doesn’t involve a screen and gets the creativity flowing!
I have decided to try to improve my artistic abilities! I have never been very good at art, so I have to start at a very beginner level. Have you guys ever heard of the paint by numbers sets? You know the ones that tell you exactly where to paint each color. Turns out they aren’t just for kids! We ordered a few of those, and I’m pretty pumped about it. They haven’t been delivered yet, but I’ll be sure to keep everyone updated on how it goes.
What creative activities have you been doing or do you want to start doing? Look out for a post on our Facebook page where you can share with us!
